Secret Escapes Luxury Nile cruise
Last few week I received a number of enquiries for our luxury Nile Cruise boat the Ms Mayfair which was slightly strange in that I don't normally get so many requests for a specific boat. However one of the enquirers let slip that they had seen an offer on Secret Escapes and were checking prices as well as trying to obtain further information on the Ms Mayfair.
This has happened previously where another of the so called "member only travel clubs" were advertising the same boat but when members had phoned the travel club they had no real knowledge of the Ms Mayfair so the members ended up calling Atp Travel Ltd and in some cases booking with us.
I am sure that these member only travel clubs do offer some great value holidays and deals but do prospective holiday makers really think they are getting a deal booking with them?? Tutankhamun tomb: Human breath wreaks havoc in Egypt
The latest new for Egypt to make the main page of the BBC website is again not good news but its nothing really new. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-21089027
For years anyone that knows anything about Egypt and the fabulous tombs of the Valleys of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, news that human breath was affecting the pigmentation in the Tomb of Tutankhamun and may cause it to close is nothing new. Stories about this have been reported regularly stating that due to humidity levels increasing the tombs may have to be closed in order to stop the fantastic rich colours from disappearing.
Will anything be done, er probably not. At a time when the country is crying out for more tourists telling potential visitors that they cant visit one of the top 5 attractions (V|alley of the Kings) and view the Tutankhamun tomb would seriously not help. With all Nile Cruise excursions visiting the Valley of the Kings as well as the normal Classical Tours any closures will make these holidays a lot less appealing.
So although its unlikely that we will see any closures soon it might be a good idea to think about that Luxury Nile Cruise or Classical Tour Holiday sooner so that you can enjoy all of Egypt's fantastic historical treasures before they disappear.

Happy New Year
A Happy New Year to one and all and for Egypt's sake lets hope its a good one.
So far things are showing signs of improvements with enquiries and bookings up on the same period from last year. We all hope that the anniversary of the "revolution" on the 25th January will pass without any major incident and that finally there will be some good news about Egypt rather than the depressing stuff that has appeared.
So here's to a fantastic to 2013 for us all.

The most Luxurious Nile Cruise
You often see on trip advisor new posts asking for advice on what is the most luxurious/best Nile Cruise and then the various replies list their favourites and reasons for it. In general the same boats appear and luckily ones offered by Atp Travel, Ms Farah and Ms Mayfair are most often included.
The truth is that it is impossible to say which is the best or most luxurious as most of the top end luxury boats are quite similar in a lot of ways and it can come down to style and décor as the deciding factor. Of course there are several Nile Cruise boats sold at large prices - Alexander the Great and Sanctuary Nile Adventurer - that would definitely fall into the top luxury Nile Cruise list. But for the extra money you would pay for these boats would it be worth it?
Most Nile Cruise boats are the same - length, width, height, have 1 restaurant, 1 large lounge bar, 1 sun deck bar and several shops/boutiques. The newer/luxury ones will sometimes have some form of spa area, a second smaller lounge/bar area and a second smaller lounge/quiet area. Also on the luxury Nile Cruises the décor will be of a much higher standard - some boats costs over $10,000,000 - the service standard much higher as well as the meals of which at least dinner will be a la carte.
However for all of this, is still worth paying possibly an extra £1000.00 per person for a weeks Nile Cruise? Of course some people will think its worth it or be convinced by a good sales person, but it definitely does not have to be the case.

Luxury Nile Cruises
As the winter Nile Cruise season starts we are seeing a rise in demand for Luxury Nile Cruises. These boats are generally the same size as those of lower standards but are normally much newer, have superior facilities a higher level of service and also of cuisine.
One question we get asked frequently is whether the extra cost is justified against other boats and if a Luxury Nile Cruise offers value for money. Although not an easy question to answer part of our reply will always include the statement "what you pay is what you get" and we explain this by saying that it is possible to have a great Nile Cruise holiday on a 5* or 5* superior boat but as these boats tend to be older and are being sold at a lower price there are other factors that can have an effect.
On Nile Cruises of a lower standard or price, the quality of the food and standard of the cabin is generally not as good. For the food this can mean a lot of repetition of meals, less choice and lower quality. For the cabins, these may not have as many facilities, the windows may not open and they may also be alot smaller. Also where boats are sold at a much lower price there is more of a tendency to push sales and other extra revenue making opportunities which can have an adverse effect on the holiday.
The modern Luxury Nile Cruise boats are truly floating hotels and offer an oasis to return to after a long but enjoyable days sightseeing.
Cabins are of a generous size and all will have fully opening windows to enjoy the Nile floating by. Bathrooms will be equipped with showers and bathtubs and finished to a very high standard. 2012 Nile Cruises
Good morning and a happy new year to one and all, though on day like to day there really is nothing much good about it !!!January is never really a good month for most people what with the post christmas blues, the bad weather and the bills to pay for all the presents bought. So I thought a few photos of our Luxury Nile Cruise boats showing warm and sunny Egypt seemed like a good idea.
January is a great time to visit Egypt, the weather is not too hot and in general the tourist sites are quieter than most other months and at the moment there are some great deals on flights from both Gatwick and Manchester. Atp Travel
A client recently asked me about Atp Travel and who we were and after I had finished giving all of the information it seemed a good idea to include in a post.
Atp travel are a small family run tour operator, travel agent and wholesaler who started life selling mainly bespoke Nile Cruises, Nile Cruise holidays, Classic Tours and Nile Cruise and Stay holidays to Egypt. Our goal is to offer a very personal service using all of the experience we have of Egypt so that our clients holiday is the best it can possibly be. All of 0ur Nile Cruises have personally been inspected and each is the best in its class, be it value for money, or standard. We have boats like the very popular RA II which is also sold by companies like Longwood Holidays and Thomas Cook Signature but our prices are nearly always much lower than these guys.

Each offers superior levels of accommodation and facilities and will ensure a true luxury Nile Cruise experience but at a price lower than most of the competition selling these boat such as Mosaic Holidays and Nile Cruises Direct.
Our classic tours are all bespoke and private for clients and tailored to individual requirements but again at very competitive prices.
We have also now branched out into the Turkey and Jordan classical market working with 2 very experienced local operators and this shows great promise for 2012.
